film noir and dance shoots

from all the shoots i've done, I've learnt that behind every glam photo is a lot of unglam moments, being all hot and sweaty and with muscles aching. sometimes there's also the frustration of not being able to get the picture right, or having weird expressions.

these are my favorite shots from the little black dress shoot! i was so lucky C had brought black gloves, and she lent them to me! i think they added a nice touch.

i was extremely tired during this shoot actually, my legs had cuts and lots of mozzie bites because i had done a shoot just the day before. and my muscles were very tired, so i had very little energy for this, couldn't jump much. haha, was lucky i managed to get some good pics, after that i decided to rest and look after the stuff while C continued to shoot more of the outdoor dance stuff. haha

about 2 months more to new zealand, it seems pretty far away still, but the time will definitely pass really fast, especially once i go to do my teaching internship. i'm excited for a holidayyy!!!

My first runway show! (:

I've been trying to blog recently, but blogger doesn't seem to allow me to upload photos, i have to upload to photobucket, so i shall just skip to the most recent event- the Mucota Gold hairshow i walked for on 15th may (:

I had to go for two castings during exam period, and thankfully i made it, so at least my time was not wasted (: I've always loved runway shows, but I'm not tall... so i'm glad i got to do this... I got paid as well and they gave us lots of free hair products :D

the day before the show, i went to do my hair and get fitted by the clothes sponsors. I felt very pampered, people looking after my hair, and painting my nails, and handing me clothes to try. haha, there were a total of 4 different salons taking part in the show, each with their own team of models and stylists. In my team, there were 4 female models and 2 Japanese male models. Each one was styled differently, and I was supposed to be the avant garde asian type look. So i got dark red hair and straight bangs. Our clothes theme was Japanese street fashion, so we got to wear heels. and my team was really nice, all very friendly and sweet (:

The venue was at CHIJMEs, and it was decorated all pretty with the runway, stage etc.

We spent the rest of the day in and out of hair and makeup, rehearsals, briefings etc. I felt a bit inferior at some points, cos i was definitely one of the shortest ones, and I had the highest heels on lols. and the foreign models are so professional and have got great catwalks... but they're all so nice.

almost there!

exams are almost over! just a bit more, one last paper on tuesday and it's glorious summer!!!

1. Skin 

feel happy about my skin, it's much better than before ((: I have Dr Loke from Novena medical centre to thank for this. I've eaten about 6 weeks of his medicine, and now, i feel confident about going out and not worrying that my face will turn oily super fast. My face stays matte all day now.

 my skin used to turn oily within half an hour, and within 2 hours, my make up has all melted off. Now i can happily apply make up once in the morning, and come back in the afternoon without re-applying my make up. I'll still have to touch up if i want it to last all day, but seriously, what an improvement for me, it's already almost like a miracle. i think anybody with oily skin and cystic acne like me should go and see him!!

At first when i started eating the medication, my skin turned a bit flaky and peeled a bit, but that's better now, and it doesn't really peel that much anymore. I'm only afraid that i'll still get a breakout during my period, and i hope not because....

 2. Booked my first commercial runway hair show! 

really excited about this. I submitted my application for this to the agent. I was asked to come down for a round of go-see with the agent. I passed that and was asked to go for the final casting at Raffle's Hotel Japanese hair salon Kizuki + LIM. the hair stylists all speak japanese only, haha, my casting was together with a Californian and a Korean, and i was super lucky to pass this casting as well since i am on the shorter side. So i'll be walking for the show, alongside 15 other female models and 4 male models flown in from japan!!! the show is 15th may at CHIJMEs,  super excitedddd
