1. Food for Thought
My first time trying out Food for Thought, although I've heard heaps about it! haha i always thought it was a brunch place, but there's actually a fusion restaurant within the National Singapore Museum. Really quite an awesome place for a date cos the ambience is nice and it's quiet enough for conversations.
These are Har cheong baby backed ribs ($25++). I don't really fancy prawn paste, but the fries were amazing!! I have no idea how they taste so good without using truffle oil.
I had salmon ($24++), and I'm still thinking about how yummy it was. They coated the salmon with sugar, so it was sweet and crispy but also soft inside, It was pretty good and interesting too. And it was served upon a bed of risotto. I love risotto!!!
My friend and I shared a dessert, haha, a milo godzilla cake ($12++), which came with milo powder of course! The cake wasn't a brownie, it was a soft moist cake, which was really quite good. The only bad thing is that the milo powder bunches up and turns hard when it comes into contact with the ice cream.
Definitely loved this restaurant, especially since all the dishes had a fusion element and incorporated local flavours wonderfully. :D they even had a laksa risotto! i wonder how that would taste like. haha
2. Symmetry Cafe
This cafe is super hard to find!!! and google maps take you in the opposite direction!! but it was on burpple's list of best waffles and pancakes so Carin and i trudged back and forth and finally found it.
We were hangry alright, a state of angriness caused by hungriness. hahaha
We had bacon and cheese rissoles ($16++) which were basically balls of cheese with bacon bits and an awesome mayo dip
Look at the gooey centres!
This is their famous waffle ($16++) ! we had hoped that there would be like a selection of waffle types to choose from, but there's only waffle dish on the menu. So that was a little disappointing. To be fair, the waffle was pretty good, with ice cream, berry compote, and peanut butter and hazelnut spreads
The food was definitely pretty yummy, and the atmostphere was rather nice, Nevertheless, i found it a little pricey, and with so many other cafes to try in Singapore, it's unlikely that I'll be returning, since the food didn't really strike us as super amazing.
