gua zai says hi!! (:
gua zai means little melon in cantonese and he's my little hk watermelon!!! he's a reallll cutey pie!! (: he's abt the size of... 2 fists! (: so cute huh!!! (: haha, i really like my gua zai!!
we just got back from hk and it was real fun! lots of mad shopping and eating!! xiu xiu was real pro at finding all the nice places to eat, especially those kind of stalls which look a bit dingy! haha, i ate one basket of xiao long baos all by myself!! (: my feet are still numb from walking!! but it was really cool to go to the markets, but i always felt lost, good thing we had dawny who has a magnetic gps system in her brain and can find all the directions in the world and always gets us where we want to go!
oh, and we are so embarassing at the airport! we were late to get on the plane there and ALSO late to get on the plane home. and we had to carry lots of luggage and run through the airport both times! on the way back, we were carrying 21 boxes of eggtarts, chicken pies doughnuts and running!!!goshhhh.... i cant imagine if we missed our flight!! the gate was supposed to close at 7 40pm and we reached at 7 42pm!!! thank goodness they let us in still if not we'll be camping at the airport now! hahah, anyway, luckily we had jess who was an expert at hauling luggages up the bus!! haha no need to worry about unemployment!
and we went to central area, temple street which was a red light district we think! cos we saw a couple of girls in mini skirts and boots loitering around! and we saw fbt man!!! okay, just a guy wearing fbts (do guys even wear fbts? not to mention that its winter and it was a cold windy night!! ) and slippers in the real cold weather while we were bundled up in layers of scarfs and sweaters. and he was approaching guys and asking them stuff. and we really wanted to know what he was doing for a living, so we kinda trailed him around for a while! and jess quickly bent down to tie and untie shoelaces so we could hear! dawny kept imagining that suddenly there would be a spotlight on us and sirens and radars would zoom in and we'd have to run for it, but before we know it, there'd be this little white van that grabs us and kidnaps all of us!! it was kinda funny for us then to do our little snooping and we wanted to ask the nearby dessert uncle if he knew what the guy was doing.
but it was also really sad at the same time...i dont know how to say it, but it just made me really sad to see him having to do that. we didnt get to find out if he was the manager or the callguy, but either way,we decided that he didnt look like a bad guy, and i think he looked kinda tired and maybe a little sad. oh, and he looked cold too.its sad right. as dawny pointed out, he only could buy a yakult cos it was the cheapest drink! and he didnt get any business the whole time we were there (but i actually think that's a really good thing). sigh. we should have bought egg tarts for him and the girls or something...
):
anyway it is a coincidence that my latest issue of impact magazine was talking about streetreach, an nz christian organisation that focuses on reaching streetwalkers. one of their events is to hold a special night for these ladies and pamper them with facials, gifts, manicures, refreshments, basically things that girls like la, just to let them know they are valued and loved for something more.
man, i wish i could do an internship with streetreach!!!!!!
anyway, just a side thought, do you think it's possible for a person to die from feeling unloved all the time?
):
okay okay, gua zai my little melon says that he loves you all and goodnighty!! hahaha, he's the cutest little melon in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD! :D
dinner with the class tmr!! EXCITING!!!
